and Judith Parker moved on from their award winning Town House in Carlisle
with the challenge of converting a rustic 200 year old stone barn into
a relaxing comfortable haven that retains its rural legacies without compromising
on modern essentials. The
building was in varying stages of ruin and there was no electricity, no
gas, no water, no sewage or telephone…..in fact nothing other than
the bygone memory of being used for the landed gentries working horses,
the odd cattle and most importantly the vats for pressing the grapes.
For most this would have been a stretch of visual imagination too far.
